Open Work Permits for Essential Workers and International Graduates
Canada has come up with a new open work permit. It is for the people in Canada who have applied for the Essential Workers and International Graduate permanent residence programs.
IRCC came to the conclusion that the temporary status of many applicants for these programs will expire as IRCC processes its applications. Thus, the offer of an open work permit for such applicants. These permits will let foreign nationals work for any company or employer of their choice.
Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP)
The Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) is jointly managed by IRCC and Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). TFWP lets Canadian employers reply to labour shortages by hiring foreign workers. At the same time, they need to ensure that permanent residents and Canadian citizens get the first chance to apply to any open job positions.
International Mobility Program (IMP)
The program helps to promote the social, cultural policy, and economic objectives of the country. Apart from easing the arrival of global workers to fulfil the demands of the Canadian labour market, it also allows foreign workers to enter the country. This helps to strengthen the multilateral and bilateral ties between the Canadian and the world community.
Work Permit Process
Each year, Canada issues thousands of work permits to foreign workers from different parts of the globe. A specific work permit process will depend upon filling the Canadian government’s LMIA or labour market test.
When it comes to Canadian immigration, the definition of “work” has a pretty broad definition. It is an activity towards which commission or wages are paid. Work without a Work Permit

There are several situations wherein a business visitor to Canada does not need a Canadian work permit. Business visitors are foreign nationals who visit Canada to take part in global business activities. However, a business visitor will never enter the Canadian labour market.
